Our Picks From Women-Led Games: Summer Game Fest 2026

Hello again! Continuing our coverage of Summer Game Fest, this time with games we found interesting from the Women-Led Games 2026 showcase! You can find the event page on Steam here, in case you wanted to check out the full selection of games for yourself.

But if you want some recommendations to get you started, take a look at this amazing array of demos and fully released titles!

A Date with Death 2: REMNANTS

“Those without history are doomed to repeat it. So, who are you?”

A Date with Death 2: REMNANTS is a highly stylized romance visual novel where you play as a Grim Reaper, part of a team of three to guide the unclaimed souls that rebellion shook loose. As a chatsim, you’ll be chatting with your team members like you did in the first A Date with Death game (through a chat client along the lines of Discord or Skype) via voice calls and messages. This time, however, there are two romanceable leads and an underworld to explore.

As of writing, A Date with Death 2: REMNANTS has a demo available. If you’re interested, you can give it a shot here.

Now, you have a date with death itself, so don’t keep the Grim Reaper waiting…

Schrödinger's Call

“The number you’ve reached is on hold. Please wait until the universe ends.”

Schrödinger's Call is a lushly illustrated, stunning visual novel where you play as a girl with amnesia. You wake up in a room with nothing but a black cat and a rotary phone. Listen to the voices of those who lived until their last breath, for the world will end in 21 nanoseconds. With a phenomenal story to experience, we recommend diving into this game blind.

Schrödinger's Call is available on Steam now. You can purchase it here.

13Z: The Zodiac Trials

“Mark your calendars.”

13Z: The Zodiac Trials is a third-person roguelike action RPG where you play as animal spirits undergoing the Zodiac Trials in an effort to become the thirteenth creature of the zodiac. With its smooth combat, extremely fast and satisfying flow, and significant build variety, 13Z is endlessly replayable while still bringing enough new ideas to the table to differentiate it from games like Risk of Rain 2. And if that’s not enough to sell you, there’s co-op!

As of writing, 13Z has a demo available. If you’re interested, you can find more information here.

Will you be seeing stars, or be standing amongst them?

Black Jacket

“Blazing aces.”

Black Jacket is a roguelike deckbuilder that pits you against the souls trapped in hell to countless games of Blackjack. As you would expect from a roguelike, there are special cards and cheats you’ll pick up to gain the upper hand, but what makes Black Jacket unique is the way you play cards. Instead of simply hitting like in Dungeons and Degenerate Gamblers, you’ll be playing cards into a tableau where positioning matters. You can weaken cards across the board, swap cards, or even shift cards off of your opponent’s hand entirely.

Black Jacket is available on Steam now. You can purchase it here.

Look me dead in the eyes and answer me: What’s 9 + 10?

INFERIUS

“Leave everything to fate, but leave nothing to chance.”

INFERIUS is a first person horror game that’s also a roguelike deckbuilder! It takes heavy inspiration from Inscryption, the Lovecraft mythos, and Dante’s Inferno, placing you in a twisted hell with only the Major Arcana of the tarot in your hands. Navigate twisted hallways of hell’s nine layers, build and buff your deck, and brave your way through hell. Or die trying. A lot.

As of writing, INFERIUS has a demo available. If you’re interested, you can find more information here.

When you wish for The World, all you get is Death. When you seek The Stars, you’re second only to The Fool.
